We head back towards Danielskuil to our second school of the day Danielskuil Intermediate, its situated in a small township about half an hours drive away.. As we drive up to the school and start unloading the vehicles it seems quite quiet...
unknown to me theres about 651 pupils and 22 teachers gathered in the courtyard eagerly waiting our arrival.
We are welcomed by the schools MC's for the day Mr ZA Phoolo and Miss HL Tsotetsi.
The children the perform songs, poems and act out a farmyard tale.. ..they lined up wearing the face masks they had created....making the appropriate animal noise...it was hilarious Rally participants then made a series of speaches...
everyone here was obviously very passionate and dedicatted to the cause...
pupils were invited to play in a hulahoop competition with the sponsors children and Iris threw the footballs out to the crowds delight... the school choir then performed.....great moments...
a vote of thanks by deputy principal Mr T.P Bonokwane and a quick pic of the presentation rounded off a very enjoyable visit...Its clear that in this second year there has been vast improvements in pupils academic levels... and the teachers and students alike are tuely gratfull....
before I leave I watch as the schoolyard is intantly transformed as the chairs are carried back into class...Its time for some lunch for the kids, also given also as part of the Rally's feeding program....Its 1pm and for many pupils this will be their first meal of the day...Theres also a Beanie hat and a bag of sweets to set the kids on there way home...
So that's another Rally weekend completed, a roller coaster ride...but one of the most enjoyable and emotional...
.Its Mpumalanga this coming weekend...cant wait...
